The Farmhouse

Little Barton Farmhouse is light and airy and has sea views from the upstairs windows, out over the Bristol Channel to Lundy Island to the north and to the west, the Atlantic.  Most of the traditional features have been preserved. There are wooden floors, sash windows and old fireplaces - not much has been changed since it was our family home.

With an open fire, a wood-burner, stacks of books and board games, it's a welcoming place to return to after coastal walks in wild weather. There is a large south facing garden at the back of the house to enjoy in the sunshine and another smaller lawn on the west side with a sea view - spectacular at sunset. The air is filled with birdsong and the hedges with wild roses and honeysuckle in the summer. The beach is about a 20 minute walk away. From the garden you can hear the waves crashing on the shore at high tide. There is a wild flower meadow and a 45ft barn with a full sized ping pong table which you are welcome to use.

The Farmhouse and The Cottage can be booked together for larger groups and weddings.

The upstairs bathroom is traditional, with an old-fashioned boxed-in loo with a view of Lundy and the Bristol Channel. Lots of hot water for baths.

Next there is another double room, also with a 5ft wide bed.  It looks out to the East over farmland to Hartland in the distance.

Downstairs, there is  a small double room with a king sized bed conveniently close to the bathroom.

This is a cosy south facing bunk-room with a single bed, cot and a bed platform (long top bunk) suitable for 2 children aged 4+

This bedroom can act as a double with a super king-sized bed, or as a triple with twin beds and a bunk.  It looks out to the west over the Atlantic and to the south over the garden.

This small single room has one of the best views in the house, looking out westwards to St Catherine’s Tor and the Atlantic.
